Since the discovery of contact lenses, they have brought many happy smiles to many faces. Contact lenses have evolved and improved in comfort, visual abilities and now offer refractive corrections in most prescriptions. Contact lenses now in a wide range of material types, with different replacement schedules, available even in multifocal toric lenses. Vision in Focus is a well established contact lens practice in the forefront of the latest products available on the market. We keep stock of Johnson & Johnson products, Acuvue Oasys, Cooper Vision’s contact lenses, Biofinity, Proclear and daily disposable contact lenses, Myday, as well as lenses from Alcon, Total One Dailies , Air Optix with Hydraglyde and Air Optix Multifocals.
We also fit the more complex cornea with different options available including Rigid gas permeable lenses and Scleral contact lenses. A Scleral lens, also known as an ocular surface prostheses is a large contact lens that rests on the sclera and creates a tear-filled vault over the cornea. Scleral lenses are designed to treat a variety of eye conditions, many of which do not respond to other forms of treatment like keratoconus.
As an alternative to refractive surgery, we do orthokeratology also known as corneal refractive therapy. Orthokeratology (ortho-k) is the fitting of specially designed gas permeable contact lenses that you wear overnight. While you are asleep, the lenses gently reshape the front surface of your eye (cornea) so you can see clearly the following day after you remove the lenses when you wake up.
Progressive myopia is a growing concern in our children and orthokeratology has proved to slow down this progression by 55-100%. Feel free to book your appointment to trial a pair of contact lenses for your individual needs.
